Cake![]() Ingredients: ½ Cup (1 Stick) Margarine or Butter ½ Cup Crisco Oil 4 Tablespoons Cocoa 1 Cup Water 2 Cups Flour 2 Cups Granulated Sugar 2 Eggs 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda ½ Cup Buttermilk 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Directions: Add the margarine, oil, cocoa and water to a medium sized pot and bring to a boil then set aside. In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar, buttermilk, baking soda and hot chocolate mixture. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth. Pour into a 16" x 11", Jelly Roll pan or a 13" x 9" cake pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Frosting Ingredients: ½ Cup (1 Stick) Margarine or Butter 4 Tablespoons Cocoa 1/3 Cup Milk 1 lb. or 4 Cups of Powdered Sugar 1 Teaspoon Vanilla 1 Cup Pecans, chopped (Optional) Directions: In a medium sized pot combine the margarine, cocoa, and milk and heat until boiling. With a hand mixer or wooden spoon beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in the chopped pecans if desired. Pour the frosting over the warm cake while the frosting is still hot. |
