Ingredients:![]() 3 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder 1 1/2 Teaspoons Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cloves 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda 1/2 Teaspoon Salt 1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper 1 Cup Butter, room temperature 1 Cup Granulated Sugar 1/4 Cup Molasses 1 Egg Powdered Sugar Directions: In a large bowl, cream the sugar and butter. Mix in the egg and molasses. Add the spices, baking soda, salt and pepper and mix until combined. Add the flour gradually beating until a soft dough forms. Shape the dough into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate until firm, at least 30 minutes. May be refrigerated up to 3 days. Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease cookie sheets. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to wire racks and dust with powdered sugar. Cool completely. Store tightly covered. Makes about 60 cookies. Note: Cookies will crack on top as they bake....this is normal. |
